65th Independence Day in Sri Lanka


Sri Lanka’s Independence Day is held on the 04th February 1948 to commemorate its political independence from British Rule and in 2013 celebrated the 65th Independence Day with utmost pride. This is very special for the Sri Lankan’s and it is marked as a national holiday in Ceylon. In 04th February 1948 the Sri Lanka wad achieved from the British Crown Colony and this is the day which we celebrate the Independence Day.
The National Day is celebrated all over the motherland in the course of flag-hoisting ceremony, dances, parades and performances. . The celebrations begin with the hoisting of the national flag and singing the national anthem.  Typically, the main celebration takes place in Colombo. Here the National Flag is raised by the President and delivers a countrywide broadcast speech.
The main of commemorating the Independence Day is to recall the fight made against the British people. Here the patriots and national heroes of Sri Lanka are called to memory for two minutes. Don Stephen Senanayake became Sri Lanka's first Prime Minister. Although the prestige is attained from British Rule as freedom; Sri Lanka next had to face for a separatist military group called LTTE in the recent years. After 2009 Sri Lanka celebrates the pure peace and harmony by highlighting the powers of army, navy, air force, police and civil defense forces. The dedication, courageousness, national unity and willpower to achieve peace are recollected in the brains of citizens.
The qualities like bravery, confidence, dedication, national unity, patriotism, nationalism, peace, national responsibility and awareness are very imperative and help to make a strong society in the future. After protecting Ceylon from terrorists the path which is open currently is the development. This is very difficult and challenging to fulfill the justice and prosperity among the nation. Now the children can go somewhere in Sri Lanka and can come back without fear and suspicion because freedom, peace and harmony has dawned.
The main derive at the rear of this greater accomplishment is the immense strength and cooperation from nation. The 65th Independence Day illustrated the peace harmony and unity among all nations than previous. We all Sri Lankan’s have the one word in mind which is known as lets dawn peace with fruitfulness of the development path.
