Road safety

As students we must have learned about this theme very well at the school. We should walk in right side of the road and when crossing the road should look left and right cautiously. But recently, in Sri Lanka if there is no pedestrian crossing is visible from the standing place up 50 or 100 meters can cross the road if not a punishment is given. When driving vehicle the driver must be careful as there are peels of fruits put by people. This will lead the steeping off from road or accidents as well.

Some ride the vehicle without any patience and due to this passengers are in trouble. The main reason is they drive after getting liquor or without sleeping a proper time period. Before start travelling the person must look for the entire system of the vehicle whether is it working properly or not means needed any repairs etc. Although we walk  in the right side vehicle riders are drawing the error for innocent person.

Then the road safety is a matter. The main thing that can be taught at school education plays a significance role. Through inspection children can be trained the importance of the rules of the road. Then the accidents occurring can be reduced and as soon as the bell goes children rush out and accidents do happen. Under the circumstances the teachers must feel it their duty to regulate the traffic near the school. The police can cooperate with the school in this respect.

To make the people road wide awake, the media like TV and Radio as well as newspapers can help highly. The police might shortest the traffic and ask people to keep to their lanes.
