How the family, education, religion, media, political and legal systems are used to maintain social control?

One can take an association between social order and social control. For society to survive there must be order which preserve, maintain and make obligatory ways of relating and behaving. Social control is simply all the mechanisms a society would position in place to ensure traditionalism and fulfillment of its members. 

The above social science factors guarantee that people live in peace and the rate of crimes are decreasing. This promenades that the society is move towards developed status. The Caribbean of all societies needs to have proper social control mechanisms ready to develop economically, socially and politically.

Socialization is the process of making a person to learn to live in terms of the expectations of the society and making him adapted to the society. Socialization is entirely based on social interactions. Creating an understanding regarding society and culture and personality development are important components in socialization process.

For instance, in Sri Lanka there was a very low percentage in tourism growth due to the crime situation within the country before 30 decades. This gave a negative effect because it broken down tourism and decreased foreign capital from accumulating within the economy.  

In order to conform, these standards and behave systematically societies have developed two methods of ensuring conformity in both a formal and informal approaches via the socialization process which refers to the enduring process of inheriting and disseminating  norms, customs  and providing individuals with skills and habits necessary for participating within the society.

Informal control relates to wide range of expectations and behaviors made by societies directed to extend actual behavior which are not imposed by the law. This strengthens the concept of socialization.

The primary agents of socialization enforce the informal rules of society; they are the family and our peer groups. The family is the most vital part of every individual's upbringing which has the power to influence an individual's self-concepts, emotions, attitudes, norms, values and standards of behavior of the wider society. A peer group is made up of people with related ages and statuses in society and sets the norms and values by which the individual must tolerate.   If we obey the rules we are praised and if we move away from these accepted values we are punished.

The secondary agencies of socialization are the work environment, education, mass media, and religion. Religion represents the decent principles of society which has its own set of norms, values that standardize the conduct of its members. The mass media provide a medium of communication and let individuals to learn and adopt new lifestyles and behaviors in society.

Formal control relates to the external permits make compulsory by the government to prevent the establishment of the disorder in society. The agencies of socialization teach us how to act in the way that others expect of us in society.

As you reflect on life thus far, what has someone said, written, or expressed in some fashion that is especially meaningful to you. Why?

According to Babe Ruth the baseball player “It's hard to beat a person who never gives up”. The statement he stated is extremely meaningful to me because it gives me courage and makes me attempt for what I want from life. If we give up, we will never achieve our goals in life. That is a major crisis in today’s society.

According to Mother Teresa, “If you judge someone, you have no time to love them.” I know that the quote’s reality is unquestionable and I hated Mother Teresa’s intention. But in my point of view it is better to judge people so as not to have to love them, because some people don’t deserve a chance. As all of you know the judgments are protected and extracted.

I know the value of a chance of having trust-worthy person in valuable. And they are seeing others as they desire they could see themselves. I’m glad to say that many of us have a lot of time left with different sort of people in my life because we definitely have a lot of chances left to give, a lot of people left to love.

Kids give up in their studies and even drop out of high school. These days in the news we can see that some of them make up foolish story to report to the police so they can get on TV and have their own reality for public. But this sound absolutely horrible to them in their lives. So kids think that it’s easy to become famous and earn a lot of money. Consequence children do not care about their education and in some extreme cases even drop out of school.

But if we attempt for what we wanted and really gave it; there is nothing online exist that can stop you. And that is why people that never give up are so hard to beat, because they would do everything in their power to get what they want. They have desire, passion and determination for what they want.

In one hand this would be a bad thing as well. Finally I would like to say that you really have to be careful with how you use all your passion.

Atmosphere

Atmosphere is the source of every living being on the world. It plays a major role in serving world’s needs. Atmosphere is very important to sustain life. The air which wrappers the earth and extends up to a substantial height from the surface of the earth is called the atmosphere. It consists of a combination of various gases and is held to the earth by gravitational attraction.

The atmosphere comprises insignificant percentage of the collection of the earth. It is the cover of air which surrounds the earth. As the atmosphere is not of the same compactness throughout and that atmospheric force decreases with height, it is a bit difficult to mark the outer boundary of the atmosphere.

There are many environmental problems that are currently cursing the earth. Many of them are caused by humans and some are immediately arise naturally. Environmental pollution isn’t a matter that has been noticed now. Many of the problems that are currently hurting the environment are acid rain, stratospheric ozone reduction and global warming.

The atmosphere has got a layered arrangement. Layers of the atmosphere vary from one another in value of temperature, density and wetness of the air. Vertical motions are produced due to these different physical properties of the atmospheric layers.

Actually, stability or unsteadiness refers to these distinctive conditions and these properties of the atmosphere decide different forms of equilibrium.

To protect Atmosphere it is simple and possible. Basically need to avoid polluting water and air. Also can fight by planting more trees against global warming and while keeping environment clean. By reducing the fuel consumption by make using the energy efficient appliances, we can preserve the Atmosphere.

Force of Habit

It is easy to acquire bad habits. In depth it means the more we do a thing the more we tend to like doing it. The bad habits such as eating too much food, drinking too much liquid of anything or smoking; if we continuously do these activities from smaller days it is unhappy to drop it in a certain age. This is called force of habit and we must fight against to control that to spend a better life.

Some tasks that we do time to time unfortunately can be harmful at a time point. This applies to both good and bad things. A wise man only remembers the true things that have done by him and recognize the bad things and attempt to avoid them.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a task not simply consummated. This requires an individual to let loose all negative passions related with the offenses against them. It is important to forget what another person has done. Rage, revenge, anger and sorrow are a few emotions that an individual must face when considering forgiveness. Forgiveness is a very subjective subject matter and everyone has their own idea on who should and who should not be forgiven.

In order to forgive others, you have to first forgive yourself. If you feel guilty about something, you have to be able to accept that you made a mistake, but you also have to then carry on and move forward. If you cannot forgive yourself, you will always be scold yourself and you won’t be able to leave the past behind.

Of course, you have to learn from the mistakes you made and try to never repeat them. In my opinion, once you understand that you have spent more time making yourself feel bad about something you have done, it becomes clear others have long since forgiven you.

Everyone has their own set of morals and ethics. I think that the hardest people to forgive are the people who are near to you. If someone who is close to you like a friend, then for them do forgiveness that they have given up your trust to some extent. I think that the level of trust breaks how it is easy to excuse someone.

I think if someone made a genuine mistake and this hurt you, then there is nothing to forgive, but if someone purposely show your trust then this makes it much more difficult to forgive. In my opinion, everything can be forgiven, but not forgotten. It is not always probable to trust someone to the same degree as before and even if it is, trust is something which has to be earned back.

Teacher as a facilitator

First of all it is important to understand the term facilitates that define to promote, to help or to make a work easy. Let’s relate this term between teacher and students which is called Teacher centered learning. The teacher will be there to promote learning, to help students, to develop more and more by learning, by providing them a practical environment to interact with in order to bring learning and further development.

 In the past the learning systems was teacher-centered learning. This breaks the liveliness and students creativity in the classroom. Actually I have experienced in this technique.  Teacher-centered learning must be balanced with student-centered learning. But student-centered learning would be more effective for the active students to carry on the work flow to succeed by using the guidance of teacher. Teachers only act as a facilitator, motivator and inspiration for students.

When a teacher is part of the student learning environment, teacher is participating in the process of providing instructions / providing certain guidance in order to bring out the learning of students. Traditional class followed through lectures by teacher. The teacher presents information in an oral presentation while students listen, take notes occasionally. Then teacher asks questions. This method leaves little space for discussion hands-on work.

 In this way teacher plays a major role in students learning environment where the student learning is not going to improve at least a decimal point. But as the teacher is researching and gathering information his knowledge improves a lot where as students get grades usually based on written exams by hearting the taught information. But in this occasion if a student fail to memorize a single section of the topic he is unsuccessful in the life.

 Because of this the student centered learning environment was built and here the student has to research and find information and to present to the teacher. This method of teaching spread to online environment where video lectures and PowerPoint presentations are used.

A teacher leads the class in discussions based on the material covered in student centered process. Facilitators rarely lecture; instead, they lead the class to discuss the material and share personal ideas by mapping the real-world examples. This approach allows students to apply the information to their own situations, making the learning more meaningful to them.

While both approaches are effective, online learning is well suitable to a facilitator approach to teaching because of the delivery system. Because information is online, classes cannot be delivered in person, it is usually delivered through reading assignments, posting discussion questions and various electronic presentations.

Floods

Floods are a natural occurrence which has resulted in various ways all over the world. Floods are natural disaster and take place regularly in certain areas. Floods benefit mankind by shaping alluvial soil. But also in the other hand Floods cause tremendous decimation to human life and property.

In some areas people are prepared for Floods. The rushes of water pull down and carry away the houses, top-soil, men and animals. It swamps large area under cultivation; overwhelm public services and makes life despondent. So that voluntary organizations arrange assistance camps and provide medical facilities, food, clothes. Also some people try to cash on the sufferings of people or facilitating necessitates goods.

Floods can be brought down by construction of dams and forestation in the catchments areas. But however people can also contribute at individual level by planting trees and preventing denudation of vegetable cover.
