At present keeping shops open
the entire week and all day and night seems convenient for customers. But in my
viewpoint there are some side-effects for most customers, shop staff. From a customer’s
perspective longer shop hours at later stage drive higher prices in goods and
less staff present in the shop for billing (less service for all consumers). Only
a few customers would actually shop after 9PM regularly.
For store staff longer opening
hours may lead to longer working hours and working in shifts. Both are known to
be neither healthy nor friendly. Later this will make more stressful and to
spend advising customers on promoting. For shopkeepers it can be challenging to
make the increased costs of longer opening hours back. If the
shop is located in a location where many customers arrive in each minutes to the country then you can increase profits significantly.
In the other hand shops should
be closed on Sundays because it is the only day which is available for the
workers to relax mind and body happily with the family and to give everyone a
day off. Workers and shoppers can stay home and enjoy family time and time off
from getting something done. During the early 1980s discount retailers such as
Hills and Wal-Mart opened their doors for limited hours on Sundays.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the
shops are closed on Sunday; to have a day where people can spend some time
leisurely enjoying with their families? Society has become quicken and gets
things done life without a traditional time to visit, spend time with family,
friends or just lie on the couch and watch TV. With the accumulation of cell
phones society has become a busy and never takes a break. Why do we need to
have the malls open on Sunday? We can just order every item we need using
the Internet.
People will have to plan to get
their shopping done during the week and on Saturdays. As humans we have to make
plans and organize our lives to get our shopping done after work and keep
Sunday to enjoy with family.
Teenagers will find a corner to
spend time without any purpose without spending the day with their families,
grandparents. You can visit grandparents and learn stories and have a good
meal. People can spend quality family time together. When you get down to it,
what’s wrong with that?
