What to expect in Higher Education

Higher education
Higher education is important for everybody in the world. Higher education is an educational level that follows the completion of a college providing a advance education, such as a high school and tertiary education . Tertiary education is normally taken to include undergraduate and postgraduate education and training. Colleges, universities, and institutes. Completion of tertiary education generally results in the awarding of certificates, diplomas, or academic degreesHigher education includes teaching, research,self-learning, group work.

What to expect from Higher Education?
According to Pt3 (2012), student may think that they are going to learn more of the skills that they have been developing so far and these may be skills of performance or skills of analysis. Main expect from the higher education is the understanding of the performance industry. So the objective of education institutes is to do research and find the challenges to face in the future bravely while being creative.

Teaching Methods
According to Cottrell (2008),there are several teaching methods where high education can be used.
1. Lectures
This depends on the study program and types and skills of the students. There are couple of lectures which is being scheduled for particular models in different time slots (Cottrell,2008). The objective is to provide facts about the topic and do some class activities (Cottrell,2008). Usually students listen to the lecturer and makes the notes and if there is clarification the students raise questions too (Cottrell,2008)

Lecturers make the students motivated by doing some interesting class activities to prepare something like wise (Cottrell,2008)
Author attends for every lecture conducted by lecturers in APIIT for the modules does home work and assignments on time. Never miss the lecturers as its important. So my advise for the readers to attend the lectures  according to the schedule and do the home work and come to the class.

2.Group work
Academic activities at the universities mainly focus on the group work. Group work helps to produce new innovations which is comprehensive, effective to gain achievements (Monash , 2009). This affect to exchange ideas with group members and to bring up a new work using there skills (Cottrell , 2008).

Main disadvantage of the group work is that the members can't work as quickly as they need as the brains have capacities (Cottrell,2008). While working in a group the students need  patience, communication skills and commitment with ideas.

In APIIT the students are doing lots of group activities where they can improve and exchange the subject knowledge. Author has done many group work in APIIT.

3. Seminars
Seminar is a group discussion presented by an academic instructor, lecturer in an institution with the help of an organization by focusing a subject (Cottrell,2008). Here is a great chance for students  to exchange subject issues and to clarify them easily with the instructor(Cottrell,2008). There are formal presentations conducted by instructors with more explanation(Cottrell,2008). In most of the educational institutes seminars are conducted. So that students should be well prepared by reading the lecture notes.

According to author's experience until present, author has attended for a number of seminars for particular subjects in various places like universities and other educational institutes. Author and students had discussions with the lecturer or instructor

4. Tutorials
Used to give feedback for the students assesments and to show which areas needed to improve (Cottrell,2008). Today most of the universities use this method to teach students (Cottrell,2008). Before starting the lecture the lecturers deliver the tutes for the students.
