College Students Should Have Complete Freedom to Choose Their Own Courses

In Sri Lanka there is freedom to select the desired course for every student without complaining to anybody based on the interest in the subject area and have to spend much time on doing things that they do not really need. I think that college students should have more power on their studies program and should be allowed to skip some courses if they are difficult. 

Universities mainly have their own specific requirements for students to graduate. First of all, when the college students have the opportunity of choosing their subjects, they will be more eager to attend their classes or seminars to collect more information on the fields that they can play. They can face to certain number of workshops by attending as the students by own know how to evaluate themselves and as they know their knowledge and understanding. But I see a lot of students struggle due to their classes in the stage of selecting the best path to follow and face both physically and mentally concerns. As the result they will get better marks, which is satisfactory both for them as well as for their teachers. They focus on something which can be important for their future career.

Additionally, they get more responsive to the all subjects that they are going to follow which can be useful for them in the future. Also they can choose them as extracurricular activities to build a good healthy mind. Intelligent students will attend more classes and lectures in different sort of locations. 

When the students select the subjects lonely, it is their responsibility to learn it successfully without dropping off. Long classes and lots of homework makes it hard to study independently about the topic, sometimes one might lose interest in the class due to these reasons. These classes are usually dropped or students end up getting a bad grade. So I think it is necessary to give students an opportunity to choose the classes which will help them become good students and also keep their interest in the major alive.

I perfectly am in agreement that college students should have freedom to choose their own courses. Nobody knows better than students what is best for them. From my own experience I know that if other students in the world have such an opportunity at college, It make them to learn courageously  without wasting so many hours on spare time or on hated subjects. This would be definitely useful for me and others who have experienced these situations in the future.
