The primary mission of colleges and universities should be preparing students for the workforce

At present some people suppose that the main duty of universities and college is to provide knowledge and skills for the students which related to their future careers. On the contrary there are also people who hold the ideas that college and universities should only focus academic stuff without thinking whether it is useful or not to build a proper workforce. Therefore the main function of a university and college is to deliver only academic based resources and to prepare the students for future employment. 

Universities in reality teach students a lot of practical valuable house of information regarding academic subjects and mention in which field it can be applied.  But no one can refuse that this knowledge is not valuable for their future working purpose. Some students are getting in to university to acquire sufficient knowledge for the intention of finding a better job in the future.

However, if the university and college only deliver academic knowledge such as theory to the student without any practical knowledge this is not sufficient for the student to achieve the best job opportunity.

Therefore it is necessary for the university and college to provide work skills related knowledge to the student; at the same time the soft skill should not forget as well such as communication skill, decision making skill and personality skill.   If this subject is not covered in depth, then the student is afraid when they enter to the industry. However at the same time it will also affect their working qualifications. Companies would want to accept those who have higher qualifications.

This is important as students should be able to experience the atmosphere in a real workforce and apply the skills they learn in daily life. By doing so students would know the purpose of studying such topics and would be motivated to learn more during their life in college and universities. However life skills and character building should also be included during college and universities. This is to ensure that the students have the right character when they enter a workforce and could adapt to their working environment easily. Co-operation between members is definitely necessary as no man is an island by itself. 

Actual needs of students are to enter to the industry and work while preserving the good will of the university or college. The basic academic knowledge is important unless the student know how to implement it practically.
